It is proposed that the 'linear' innovation process is less relevant for the contemporary innovation process that is arguably characterized by network-based innovation. As such, networked innovation that requires the ability to manage knowledge transfer is largely facilitated by the advanced information and communication technology. The level of analysis used is organizational since innovation for '90s was characterized by the pervasive role of networked innovation and inter-organizational innovation arrangements.
