HUBUNGAN PARTISIPASI PEMAKAI DAN KEBERHASILAN SISTEM INFORMASI: STUDI TERHADAP TIGA FAKTOR KONTINJENSI PADA BUMN DI DINDONESIA

Partisipasi pemakai dalam menggunakan system informasi telah dipergunakan sebagai kunci keberhasilan sistem. Bukti-bukti empiris, bagaimanapun, hasilnya tidak mendukung hal tersebut. Guna menjelaskan hasil yang kurang pasti tersebut, tiga faktor kontinjensi - dukungan manajemen puncak, kompleksitas tugas, dan locus of control - diuji pengaruhnya terhadap hubungan partisipasi pemakai dan keberhasilan sistem informasi sebagai variabel pemoderasian pada BUMN di Indonesia.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi pemakai mempunyai hubungan positif yang langsung mempengaruhi keberhasilan pengembangan sistem informasi. Uji terhadap tiga faktor kontinjensi menunjukkan bahwa ketiga faktor tersebut berinteraksi pada hubungan tersebut. Dukungan manajemen puncak, kompleksitas tugas, dan locus of control terbukti sebagai quasi moderator. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa beberapa faktor kontinjensi memang dapat meningkatkan keberhasilan pengembangan sistem informasi pada organisasi.
User participation in information system development is considered the key to system success in organization. The empirical evidence, however, does not support this. To explain !uch equivocal result, the effect of three contingency factors - top management support, task complexity, and locus of control - as moderating variables on the relationship between user participation and system success were investigated on BUMN in Indonesia.
Result of this research indicate that user participation has positif direct relationship with system success. In using the effect of three contingency factors, result indicate that these factors were found to 'play key role on the relationship. Top management support, task complexity, and locus of control proved to be quasi moderator. This finding suggests that several contingency factors can ensure high level of system success.
