ANALISIS STRUKTUR DAN KINERJA INDUSTRI TEKSTIL DAN PRODUK TEKSTIL LAINNYA (TPT) YANG GO PUBLIC DI INDONESIA

Sejalan dengan era globalisasi, terjadi perubahan struktur perekonomian di Indonesia, dari sektor pertanian ke sektor industri. Salah satu sektor industri yang memberikan kontribusi yang cukup besar bagi perekonomian Indonesia adalah industri tekstil dan produk tekstil lainnya (TPT), baik dari segi jumlah perusahaan, penyerapan tenaga kerja, maupun nilai ekspor. Namun beberapa tahun terakhir ini terjadi penurunan kontribusi ekspor industri TPT terhadap ekspor nonmigas. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan adanya beberapa permasalahan yang terjadi di dalam industri TPT Indonesia. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menganalisis bagaimana struktur dan perilaku perusahaan mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan dalam industri TPT yang go public di Indonesia, dengan menggunakan paradigma Structure Conduct Performance (SCP) pada tingkat perusahaan (firm level). Penelitian ini menggunakan data 11 perusahaan TPT yang go public di Indonesia, selama periode 2003-2007. Alat analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah data panel dengan metode fixed effect. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa selama periode 2003-2007, industri TPT yang go public di Indonesia tergolong ke dalam tipe oligopoli dengan konsentrasi tinggi. Hasil dari penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa tingkat profitabilitas perusahaan TPT yang go public di Indonesia dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh pangsa pasar, ukuran perusahaan, dan pertumbuhan perusahaan. Sementara itu, rasio konsentrasi pasar, advertising-sales ratio, dan conjectural variation tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap tingkat profitabilitas perusahaan. In step of globalization era, the Indonesian economic structure has changed from agricultural sectors to industrial sectors. Some industrial sectors which contribute largely to Indonesian economy are textile industries and other textile-product industries (TPT) in the total of firms, the total of labors, or the total of export products. However, in recent years, the export contribution of TPT industries to non nature oil and gas export products decrease. It indicates that there are some problems in TPT industries in Indonesia. This research tries to analysis how the structure and the behavior of firms effect the performance of firms in TPT industries that go public in Indonesia by using a Structure Conduct Performance (SCP) paradigm in the firm level. The data are 11 TPT firms that go public in Indonesia in 2003-2007 periods. The instrument of this analysis is panel data accompanied by a fixed effects method. The result shows that in 2003-2007 periods, TPT industries that go public in Indonesia are categorized in an oligopoly type with high concentration. The result also shows that profitability rates of TPT firms that go public in Indonesia is significantly influenced by market, the size of firms, and the growth of firms. Meanwhile, market concentration ratio, advertising-sales ratio and conjectural variation do not significantly affect the profitability rates of firms.
