ANTESEDEN DAN KONSEKUENSI PEMANFAATAN TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI DOSEN PERGURUAN TINGGI SWASTA (PTS) DI INDONESIA

Beberapa tahun terakhir adopsi teknologi informasi dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia masih rendah. Padahal diharapkan dengan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi akan berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja dosen. Tesis ini

ingin menguji secara empiris faktor-faktor yang merupakan anteseden dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi yaitu, faktor sosial, affect, kompleksitas, kesesuaian tugas, konsekuensi jangka panjang dan kondisi yang memfasilitasi, serta konsekuensi pemanfaatan teknologi informasi terhadap kinerja. Teknologi informasi dalam penelitian ini terbatas pada penggunaan personal computer dalam menunjang aktivitas dosen. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dosen-dosen PTS bidang ilmu ekonomi di Indonesia. Dosen PTS di Banjarmasin dianggap mewakili

dosen PTS di luar pulau Jawa dan dosen PTS di DI.Yogyakarta mewakili dosen PTS di Indonesia yang dijadikan kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menemukan, dosen-dosen PTS di Indonesia mempersepsikan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi secara signifikan berpengaruh

positif terhadap kinerja mereka. Tetapi pemanfaatan teknologi informasi bagi sebagian dosen tidak dipengaruhi oleh keenam faktor yang diuji, sementara sebagian lainnya mempersepsikan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dipengaruhi oleh faktor sosial, affect dan kondisi yang memfasilitasi. In the last few years, the adoption of information technology in education environment in Indonesia still low. The utilization of information technology was

expected giving a positive influence to lecturers performance. This thesis tested the factors empirically as antecedent in utilization of information technology such as social factor, affect, complexity, job fit, long term consequence, facilitating condition, and consequence of utilization of information technology to performance. The information technology in this research limited on using personal computer which supported the lecturer's activity. Sampels in this research were private universitys economics lecturers in Indonesia. The lecturers of private universities in Banjarmasin considered to represent private universitys lectures outside of Java and private universitys lecturers in Yogyakarta represented private universitys lecturers who was created to a control group. The result of this research found that private universitys lecturers in

Indonesia perceived that utilization of information technology significantly gave positive influence to their performance. While utilization of information

technology for half of lecturers were not influenced by six tested factors, and the others perceived that utilization of information technology were influenced by
