Pengujian Teori Pecking Order Pada Perusahaan di Bursa Efek Indonesia

Manajer keuangan bertanggung jawab dalam mengelola fungsi-fungsi keuangan dengan baik untuk memaksimalkan nilai perusahaan. Salah satu fungsi keuangan tersebut adalah fungsi pendanaan. Bagaimana cara manajer mendanai aktivitas bisnisnya akan mempengaruhi struktur modal perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh profitability, tangibility of assets, firm size, growth opportunities dan non-debt tax shield terhadap struktur modal perusahaan. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap 48 perusahaan sampel selama periode tahun 2005-2008 sehingga siperoleh 192 observasi. Hasil pengujian menggunakan regresi data panel menunjukkan bahwa profitability berpengaruh negatif sedangkan firm size dan tangibility of assets berpengaruh positif terhadap leverage perusahaan. Growth opportunities dan non-debt tax shield tidak terbukti secara signifikan mempengaruhi leverage perusahaan.
Financial manager responsible for managing the financial functions properly to maximize firm value. One of the finance function is a function of funding. How do managers to fund its business activities will affect the companys capital structure. This study aims to examine the influence of profitability, tangibility of assets, firm size, growth opportunities and non-debt tax shield against the companys capital structure. This study conducted on samples of 48 companies during the period 2005-2008 in order to obtain 192 observations. The tests results using the panel data regressions shows that the profitability negatively affect the leverage of the company while the tangibility of assets and firm size positive influence to leverage the company. Growth opportunities and non-debt tax shield is not statistically proven to affect the leverage of the company.
