The use of internet to support education has experienced tremendous growth in Indonesia. Hence, empirical research to examine the internet usage, especially in higher education is an interesting topic. The current study that uses contingency model attempts to examine factors influencing internet usage. The research model comprises of one dependent variable (internet usage) and four independent variables (Instruction of lecturer, Availability, Outcome expectations, and Internet Self-Efficacy). The study employed questionnaires that were administered to 128 undergraduate students in accounting department of Gadjah Mada University. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regressions. The results reveal that Instruction of lecturer, Availability, and Internet Self-Efficacy, play significant role in internet usage by accounting students. Unfortunately, the current research indicates a weak support toward Outcome expectations. Keywords: Internet usage; SPSS 13; multiple linear regressions
