Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh FDI Cina di Indonesia terhadap perdagangan bilateral antara Indonesia dan Cina pada peiode 1992:1-2009:4. Penelitian ini melihat hubungan teori perdagangan dan teori FDI apakah merupakan substitusi atau komplemen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Autoregressive Distribution Lag (ADL).
Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa FDI Cina di Indonesia berpengaruh negatif terhadap perdagangan bilateral pada sisi ekspor, sedangkan pada sisi impor berpengaruh positif. Hal ini berarti hubungan antara FDI Cina dan perdangan bilateral Indonesia-Cina adalah substitusi.
This research is aimed to investigate the impacts of Chinese FDI in Indonesia on the bilateral trade between Indonesia and China during the period of 1992:1-2009:4. This research makes an attempt to observe the relationship of trade theories and FDI theories whether they are substitutional or complementary. This research employs Autoregressive Distribution Lag (ADL) method.
This study reveals that the Chinese FDI in Indonesia has negative impacts on the bilateral trade in terms of export, yet it does give positive impacts in terms of import. This significantly means that the relationship between the Chinese FDI and the bilateral trade of Indonesia-Cina is substitutional.
