Analizing the Financial Performance of PT Garuda Indonesia

The research is conducted on one of Indonesias state own company. The company is one of the players in the airline industry; it has been running for more than 61 years. The company have been facing a problem in terms financing it has experienced net loss for 3 consecutive years from the year 2004 to 2006. Then the company has made an unparallel change in net income since 2009. The changes occur due to the implementation of debt reconstructuring that was conducted by the company. The researcher wanted to analayze the changes that had occured during 2004 to 2009 in terms of financial performance.
To conduct the reasearch the researcher analyze the companys financial performance by using financial ratios as a tool of measurement. After computing the ratios and comparing the ratio throughout the years. The researcher also made a benchmark with one of the companys competitor. From the result of the analysis the company have exprienced a significant change. The companys profitibility ratio, activity ratio, growth ratio, and cash flow analysis have been increasing. On the other hand the companys solvency ratio have been decreasing. This indicates that the companys performance have been increasing through the years 2004 to 2009.
