Evaluasi penerapan sistem electronic data interchange dalam pertukaran dokumen dari perusahaan ke Pabean studi kasus PT Rodeo

Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat serta merta mempengaruhi perkembangan sistem informasi akuntansi. Sistem informasi akuntansi mencakup beberapa hal yang salah satunya adalah penggunaan teknologi dalam mendapatkan informasi keuangan. Salah satu teknologi tersebut adalah adanya sistem Electronic Data Interchange. Selain perkembangan teknologi yang mempengaruhi semua sektor, penggunaan sistem EDI diwajibkan oleh pihak Direktorat Jendral Bea Cukai untuk bertukar dokumen dari perusahaan ke Pabean dalam rangka ekspor dan impor. Penelitian ini mempunyai beberapa tujuan, yaitu untuk mengetahui efektivitas dan efisiensi penerapan sistem Electronic Data Interchange, untuk mengetahui dalam hal apa sistem EDI membantu perusahaan, dan untuk mengetahui apakah sistem ini sudah benar-benar paperless, tanpa menggunakan kertas dalam pertukaran dokumen.
Penelitian ini dilakukan pada sebuah perusahaan garment yang rutin melakukan ekspor dan impor. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem Electronic Data Interchange efektif dan efisien dalam penerapannya dan membantu perusahaan dalam mempercepat pertukaran dokumen. Namun, sistem EDI belum sepenuhnya paperless dan pemasangan sistem EDI membutuhkan biaya yang cukup mahal.
Nowadays, technology development is so sophisticated and affects many sectors such as Accounting Information System. Accounting Information System includes several aspects and one of those is technology implementation to get financial information for example, Electronic Data Interchange system. Beside the technology development, implementation of EDI system is also obligated by Direktorat Jendral Bea Cukai (Custom) in exchanging export or import documents from the company to the Custom. This research has several aims, those are to know the effective and efficient of EDI system, to know in what sides EDI system help the company, and to know whether EDI system is already paperless system, without using paper in exchanging documents.
This research is using a garment company as the sample that routinely does export and import. This research result shows that Electronic Data Interchange effective and efficient in its implementation and help the company in speeding the document exchange. Yet, EDI system is not completely paperless and for implementing this system is costly enough.
