Pengaruh Infrastrukture telekomunikasi terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Indonesia(1979-2007)

Infrastruktur publik pada saat ini menjadi salah satu fokus pemerintah dalam mengakselerasi pertumbuhan ekonominya. Namun demikian, penelitian mengenai infrastruktur telekomunikasi sebagai salah satu macam infrastruktur publik secara terpisah dari infrastruktur fisik lainnya sangat diperlukan karena infrastruktur telekomunikasi dan teknologi informasi berpotensi memiliki pengaruh yang berbeda daripada infrastruktur publik lainnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menguji
hubungan empiris antara infrastruktur telekomunikasi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia dengan menggunakan analisis ECM-EG. Penelitian ini menggunakan data runtun waktu tahunan periode 1979-2007 dengan teledensitas sebagai proksi dari infrastruktur telekomunikasi. Hasil berdasarkan ECM-EG memprlihatkan bahwa infrastruktur telekomunikasi berpengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi baik dalam jangka panjang maupun jangka pendek.
Public Infrastructure at the moment become one of the government focus to accelerates economic growth. However, to address the impact of infrastructure investments on economic performance it is necessary to differentiate between various types of infrastructure. It is clear that the effect of telecommunication and information technology infrastructure on productivity and economic growth are potentially very different from that of other types of infrastructure. Therefore, this research exemines the empirical relationship between telecommunications infrastructure and the economics growth of Indonesia by using analysis of ECM-EG. This Research use annual time series data from 1979-2007 with teledensity as a proxy of telecommunications infrastructure. The result based on ECM-EG shows that telecommunications infrastructure have positive effects and statistically significant on economic growth both in short run and long run.
