DETERMINANTS OF SELF-EMPLOYMENT: NECESSITY OR CHOICE?
HIDAYAT, WAHYU,
2014 | Tesis | S2 EconomicsThis study investigates the determinants of self-employment in Indonesia using the Indonesia family Life Survey, 1997-2007. There are two opposing views of self-employed, specifically—the push hypothesis and the pull hypothesis. I find the “pull hypothesis” does a better job of explaining self-employment in Indonesia. By better understanding the nature of self-employed in Indonesia, policy makers there can design appropriate policies to encourage entrepreneurship in Indonesia.
