This study used the Indonesian economic crises in 1999 and 2000 as an investigation on a failure case. This study applied logit analysis in order to predict the company failures by using the company's sensitivity toward the variable macroeconomic conditions. The sample used was delisted companies representing the failed companies and the still listed companies for those companies that were not fail yet.
The result showed that the variable macroeconomic conditions for example composite index, money supply, interest rate and microeconomic condition for example asset can be used to predict companies failures. Whereas from testing the ability to predict the failure, this study found an optimal cutoff point that can minimized type 1 errors. The contribution that could be made from this study was that this model was able to bridge the company's sensitivity toward macroeconomic conditions and the company's financial characteristics so that it could be used to predict the company's failure.
