Analisis Manfaat Ekonomi dan Efisiensi Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi di Kabupaten Sleman

The objective of this research is to measure economic value of Gunung Merapi National Park Conservation through the benefit/cost analysis, direct benefit or indirect benefit. In the other hands, this observation depict the suitable policy for the conservation foundation of Gunung Merapi National Park Conservation in the perspective of economic aspect. To Measure the efficiency of National Park development, this research uses Benefit/Cost analysis. Benefit/Cost analysis used as a tool to present the evaluation of economy sources utilization, in order to make utilization of economy sourcers performed efficiently.
The result of the data analysis have shown that the development project of National Park is profitable, along with direct benefit or indirect benefit, greater than the cost. So, this project considered as an efficient project, by benefit/cost analysis . The exsitence of this National Park region, besides it will give direct benefit such as water reservation for irrigation dan household consumption, and sand mining, it also give indirect benefit such as tourism resort that give many profit for the society and goverment. Based on the calculation result of Internal Rate of Return (IRR), found that internal rate of return (IRR) for National Park is about 12,91 %. This means that the project economically is proper enough to be implemented, because this value representing the greater value rate of return from the valid social discount rate. From the benefit/cost analysis, with the social discount rate asumption is about 6%, the development project of National Park economically considered as proper. Shown in value Benefit/Cost Ratio that have greater value than one (B/C Ratio > 1 ), is about 24,76. From this research too, could be drawn in conclusion that finacial profit and financial calculation are not the only one factor to determine the policy that related to the national park development, but the social benefit also take a part, that is the opportunity cost as a consequence of national park existence. There are also another benefits as air quality, sediment controller, research dan education, animal and plant reservation, and also as a heritage value.
