Perancangan sistem informasi untuk sirkulasi artikel: kasus di jurnal ekonomi dan bisnis Indonesia

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah sistem informasi untuk sirkulasi artikel bagi JEBI. Sistem informasi yang baru nanti diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan di dalam proses sirkulasi artikel agar dapat terintegrasi dengan baik menggantikan sistem informasi artikel yang digunakan saat ini yang mengandung ketidakefisienan dan ketidakefektifan. Sistem informasi untuk sirkulasi artikel yang baru yang dirancang dan dikembangkan di dalam penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menghubungkan informasi seputar sirkulasi artikel dari penulis, staf admin, dan dewan editor secara mudah dan cepat.
Metoda analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan pendekatan studi kasus, wawancara mendalam, serta observasi partisipatif menggunakan model SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) khususnya pada fase definisi. Pada fase definisi SDLC, peneliti menggunakan hasil wawancara dengan dewan redaksi JEBI untuk mengetahui kelebihan dan kelemahan sistem informasi untuk sirkulasi artikel yang sedang berjalan. Langkah ini diambil untuk mengidentifikasi secara jelas hasil wawancara dengan dewan redaksi untuk membuat simpulan sebagai dasar untuk merancang sistem informasi sirkulasi artikel yang baru yang sebenarnya dibutuhkan oleh JEBI.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan proses sirkulasi artikel yang berjalan saat ini di JEBI memiliki beberapa kelemahan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menawarkan rancangan sistem informasi untuk sirkulasi artikel yang lebih terintegrasi yang dapat menghubungkan antara penulis artikel, staf admin, serta reviewer secara mudah dan cepat.
This research aims to design an information system of article circulation for JEBI. The new information system is expected to be able to give the information needed by stakeholders of article circulation so that it can be integrated well, substitutes the existing information system that contains inefficiency and ineffectiveness. The new information system designed and developed in this research is also expected to be able to interrelate the information about JEBI's article circulation among the contributor, administrative staff, and the reviewer easily and quickly.
The data analysis methods used in this research are case study, in-depth interview, and participant observer approach using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, especially in the definition phase. In the definition phase of SDLC, the researcher uses the result of interview with JEBI's editorial board to know the strengths and the weaknesses of the existing information system for article circulation. This step was taken to clearly identify the result of interview with JEBI's editorial board to make the conclusion as a basis to design the new information system for article circulation that is actually needed by JEBI.
The result of this research shows that the existing process of JEBI's article circulation has some weaknesses. Therefore, the researcher offers a design of information system for article circulation that is more integrated to interrelate the information about JEBI's article circulation among the contributor, administrative staff, and the reviewer easily and quickly.
