Dampak Renminbi Cina terhadap Ekspor Bilateral ASEAN 5 ke Amerika Serikat

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dampak renminbi Cina terhadap ekspor bilateral tiap negara ASEAN5 ke Amerika Serikat dalam konteks hubungan jangka panjang. Negara ASEAN5 merupakan lima negara pendiri ASEAN yang terdiri dari Singapura, Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina dan Thailand. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan uji kointegrasi Johansen test dan metode regresi Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Periode penelitian dalam bentuk waktu kwartalan dari tahun 1987.Q1 hingga 2009.Q2. Penelitian ini dibatasi dengan lebih memfokuskan analisis dampak renminbi Cina pada hubungan jangka panjang. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara kenaikan nilai tukar mata uang renminbi terhadap ekspor bilateral seluruh negara ASEAN5 ke AS. Hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa hubungan barang ekspor antara Cina dan ASEAN5 ke AS adalah saling melengkapi (komplementer).
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the impact of change in exchange rate, Chinesse renminbi againts the US dollar, on the bilateral export of ASEAN5 countries to the United State. ASEAN5 countries are the five founder countries of ASEAN organization, i.e. Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. The cointegration test using Johansen test and Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression are used to detect the cointegrating relationship and to estimate the cointegration equation. This research is limited only to analyze the impact of exchange rate Chinesse renminbi againts US dollar in the long-run term. Empirical test results, which have been analyzed using the quarterly data covering the time period from the first quarter of 1987 to the second quarter of 2009, show significant long-run impacts of the Chinese renminbi on five countries' exports. In particular, according to the estimation of cointegrating vectors, depreciation of the renminbi has a positive impact on the ASEAN5 countries' exports, implying that the relationship between Chinese exports and ASEAN5 countries' export are complementary.
