Pengaruh biaya Pendidikan Terhadap Mutu Prestasi Siswa dengan Mutu Proses Belajar Mengajar sebagai variabel Intervening pada Sekolah menengah Pertama Di kabupaten Klaten

Pendidikan dipandang sebagai upaya untuk mencetak sumber daya manusia yang tangguh sebagai salah satu modal penting dalam membangun negara. Proses pendidikan tidak dapat berjalan tanpa dukungan dana atau biaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar biaya pendidikan yang dikeluarkan oleh siswa pertahun menurut siswa dan pihak sekolah dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh biaya pendidikan tersebut terhadap mutu pendidikan. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah (1). Biaya pendidikan berpengaruh terhadap mutu proses belajar mengajar; (2). Biaya pendidikan berpengaruh terhadap mutu prestasi siswa; (3). Biaya pendidikan berpengaruh tidak langsung terhadap mutu prestasi siswa melalui mutu proses belajar mengajar sebagai variabel intervensi, yang kesemuanya diujikan pada Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Kabupaten Klaten.
Subyek penelitian ini adalah 24 Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Kabupaten Klaten dengan 440 siswa yang terdiri dari 170 siswa dan 270 siswi, untuk tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode kuesioner yang diberikan kepada pihak sekolah, guru dan siswa. Metode statistik yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan biaya pendidikan yang dikeluarkan siswa menurut sudut pandang siswa dan biaya pendidikan yang dikeluarkan siswa menurut sudut pandang sekolah. Namun demikian, perbedaan ini tidak terlalu besar karena dimungkinkan perbedaan terjadi hanya pada beberapa komponen saja. Selain itu terdapat pula pengaruh yang signifikan biaya pendidikan terhadap mutu proses belajar mengajar sebesar 44,6%, biaya pendidikan terhadap mutu prestasi siswa sebesar 51,5%, dan biaya pendidikan terhadap mutu prestasi siswa yang diuji melalui variabel intervensi sebesar 44,1%
Education is viewed as an effort to produce reliable human resources, which is one of the assets to develop nation a state. The educational process cannot run smoothly in the absence of fund support. The objectives of this research are to investigate the amount of educational cost that the students have to pay annually according to the students and schools point of view and the effect of the educational cost towards the education quality. The proposed hypotheses of the research are as follows: (1) the educational cost has an affect on the quality of teaching and learning process; (2) the educational cost has an affect on the students' learning achievement quality; and (3) the educational cost has an indirect affect on the students' learning achievement quality through the teaching and learning process quality as the intervention variable, all of which are tested to Junior Secondary Schools in Klaten regency.
The subjects of the research were 24 Junior Secondary Schools in Klaten regency in the academic year of 2009/2010 with the total students of 440. 170 students out of 440 are male and the rest are 270 female. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire, which is given to the schools, teachers, and students. The data were statistically analyzed by using a multiple linier regression analysis.
The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a difference between the educational cost paid by the students according to the students point of view and the educational cost paid by the students according to the schools point of view. However, the difference is not too big considering that the difference is only found on few components of the educational cost. (2) There is a significant effect of the educational cost on the teaching and learning process amounting to 44.6%, the students learning achievement quality amounting to 51.5%, and the students learning achievement quality which is tested through the intervention variable amounting to 44.1%.
