STRATEGI KOMPETITIF, KEMATANGAN TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI, DAN RESPON STRATEJIK PERUSAHAAN TERHADAP GLOBALISASI : SUATU STUDI EMPIRIS

Akhir-akhir ini globalisasi kompetisi telah menyebabkan perusahaan mengintegrasikan sistem informasi mereka. Model penelitian dikembangkan berdasarkan review literatur
dalam bidang manajemen stratejik dan sistem informasi. Model penelitian menggambarkan pengaruh strategi kompetitif, kematangan teknologi informasi, dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap respon stratejik perusahaan dalam menghadapi perjanjian perdagangan bebas APEC yang dicerminkan dalam keinginan untuk melakukan penambahan investasi teknologi informasi. Berdasarkan hasil survei melalui surat
terhadap 44 perusahaan, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa hanya kematangan teknologi informasi yanV mempengaruhi keinginan perusahaan untuk melakukan investasi dalam teknologi informasi sebagai respon stratejik perusahaan.
Recently the globalization of competition has caused many firms to integrate their information systems. Based on a selective review of literature from strategic and
information management disciplines, a model is developed to study the firms' strategic response to APEC Free Trade Agreements. The purpose of this study is to investigate the
impact of competitive strategy, information tecnology maturity and size on firms' strategic response to APEC Free Trade Agreement. According to a survey of 44 firms,
this study find that information technology maturity influences firms' perceived increase in information technology investment. Competitive strategy and size can't influence firms' strategic response to perceived increase in information technology investment. It suggests that the new competitive strategies will be increasingly technology-based global initiatives that are affected by the firms' information technology maturity.
