Abstract

In the investment decision-making process, framing effect often biases the resulting decision. Prior research found that individual differences such as experience and responsibility also affect the decision making process. Using quasi experiment this research aimed at testing 1) whether the decision outcome is different when the information is framed differently (negatively or positively), 2) whether the degree of responsibility will give different outcomes of decision, and 3) whether the experience level moderate the impact offraming on decision outcome. The result shows that the decisions made by subject differ if information framed positively and negatively. This finding serves as important evidence about the effect of framing in the decision making process. Furthermore, there is no difference of de.cision outcomes between subjects with high responsibility and low responsibility. The results also indicate that experience reduces the effect of framing in the decision making process.
