Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menemukan akurasi respon investor terhadap pengumuman dividen. Penelitian ini memberikan bukti tentang kandungan informasi dividen. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa investor bereaksi sama terhadap perusahaan yang mempunyai prospek bertumbuh dan tidak bertumbuh pada pengumuman dividen bertambah.




Penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa investor bereaksi secara tidak tepat terhadap informasi perubahan dividen, dan mengindikasikan bahwa investor tidak sophistichated. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini didasarkan pada pengujuian 74 perusahaan go public di BEJ yang terdiri dari 40 perusahaan tidak mempunyai prospek bertumbuh dan 34 perusahaan yang mempunyai prospek bertumbuh. Kata Kunci: Pengumuman dividen, perusahaan bertumbuh dan tidak bertumbuh, respon investor, investor sophisticated.

This research is aim to find out the accuracy of investor response towards of dividend announcement. This research provides evidences on dividend information contents. This Research proves that investor show same reaction towards growing companies and non-growing companies on increasing dividend announcement. This research indicates that investor reacted inconsistently towards information on dividend change information, and indicates that investors are not sophistichated. The conclusion of this research is base on testing on 74 go public companies registered in Jakarta Stock Exchange that consists of 40 companies without growing prospect and 34 companies having growing prospect.
