Pengaruh corporate governance terhadap kinerja perusahaan go public di Indonesia

Based on stockholder model and political model of Corporate Governance, this paper examines the relationship between Corporate Governance mechanisms and corporate performance. This paper employs a multiple regression to test the hypothesis that Corporate Governance mechanisms and corporate performance are related. Independent Commissioner, Ownership Dispersion, Existence of Parent Company, and Managerial Ownership are used as Corporate Governance mechanisms in this paper. Meanwhile, return on equity is Used to measure corporate operational performance and total shareholder return is used to measure corporate market performance. The analysis shows that there are no significant relationship between Corporate Governance mechanisms and return on equity. It means that those Corporate Governance mechanisms do not affect the corporate operational performance. The analysis also shows that only the Existence of Parent Company which is significantly and negatively related to total shareholder return. It indicates that market has negative respond. to the existence of parent company.
