SEKTOR POTENSIAL DAN KONTRIBUSINYA TERHADAP PENGEMBANGAN KAWASAN ANDALAN BOMBERAI KECAMATAN KOKAS KABUPATEN FAKFAK

Guna lebih mengoptimalkan pembangunan daerah, di Kabupaten Dati II FakFak telah ditetapkan Bomberai Kecamatan Kokas sebagai salah satu kawasan andalan dari 6 kawasan andalan di Propinsi Irian Jaya. Penetapan ini didasarkan pada potensi yang dimiliki serta dengan melihat prospek pengembangan di masa mendatang.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sektor-sektor ekonomi yang dapat menjadi sektor unggulan dalam pembangunan ekonomi di kawasan Bomberai kecamatan Kokas , kabupaten Fak-fak . Dalam lingkup yang lebih luas , kawasan ini diharapkan menjadi pusat pertumbuhan bagi kawasan lain , khususnya wilayah selatan Irian Jaya .
Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder tahun 1993- 1997 berupa publikasi resmi tentang produk-produk komoditi pertanian , perkebunan , dan peternakan di kecamatan Kokas dan kabupaten Fak-fak serta Produk Domestik Regional Bruto(PDRB) kabupaten Fak-fak . Data tersebut diperoleh dari kantor statistik Daerah tingkat II Kabupaten Fak-fak , Kantor Statistik Daerah Tingkat I Propinsi Irian Jaya , dan Departemen Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Daerah Tingkat II Kabupaten Fak-fak . Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah Location Quotient (LQ) , Shift-Share , dan analisis kualitatif.
Hasil analisis LQ menunjukan bahwa terdapat empat sektor ekonomi yang dapat menjadi sektor basis dengan titik berat pada sektor Pertanian . Dad analisis sift-share diketahui bahwa duansubsektor dalam sektor Pertanian mempunyai keunggulan kompetitif , yaitu subsektor tanaman pangan dan subsektor peternakan .
Beradasarkan analisis kualitatif terhadap kedua subsektor tersbut , ditemukan beberapa komoditas unggulan , yaitu padi ladang , jagung kedelai , pala dan kopi , serta sapi dan ayam kampung
In order to optimalize the regional development, Bomberai in the regency of Fakfak has been decided one of the 6 leading areas in the Province of Irian Jaya.
This decision in based on the potency and the development prospect of this area in the future.
This research attempts to identifity the econimic sector which can become the leading sectors in the economics development of Bomberai area in the Subdistrict of
Kokas , the regency of Fak-fak . In a broader scope , this area is supposed to be a growth center for other areas , especially the southern areas of Irian Jaya .
The data used in this research are secondary data for the period of 1993-1997 consisting of offical publications about commodity products of agriculture , plantation ,
and farming in the subdistrict of Kokas and the regency of Fak-fak and the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the regency of Fak-fak . The data were obtained from the regencial Statistics Office of Irian Jaya , and the department of Industry and trade of the regency of Fak-fak . The analysis methods aollied in this research are location quotient (LQ) , shift-share , and qualitative analysis .
The results of LQ analysis indicate that there are four economic sector which can be the basic sectors with the focus on the agriculture sector . From shift-share analysis it is known that two subsectors in the agriculture sectore have competitive advantage , namely subsector foodcrop and subsector farming . Based qualitative analysis on those two subsector it is found that there are some leading comodities , namely dry-field rice , corn , soybean , nutmeg and coffe , and cow and local chicken.
