Investors need accurate information on financial performance of companies contained in company financial report. One of most used financial report analyses is

ratio analysis. Profitability ratio is financial ratio that indicates company capability to get profit. If profit increases, then stock price will be increase so stockholder will get return from stock they own.

This research aimed to test whether there is positive and significant association between change in profitability ratio and change in stock price of manufacturer companies listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange. Data used in this research include profitability ratio consisting Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Net Profit Margin (NPM) from 2001 to 2005 and stock price from December 2002 to December 2006. Multiple linear regression was used to identify association between change in

profitability ratio and change in stock price. Results of the research indicated that change in profitability ratios relate positively and significantly to change in stock price. Changes in Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE) and Net Profit Margin (NPM) together have positive and significant association with change in stock price. In partial, Return on Asset (ROA) has positive and significant association with change in stock price, while Return on Equity (ROE) and Net profit margin (NPM) did not relate significantly to change in stock price.
