Personal characteristics of individuals employing a leadership style i.e., transformasional leadership that has been found to be effective and may enhance recruitment, selection, training, and development in organizations. This is reseach of a study linkages between personal characteristics and dimensions of transformasional leadership study of AJB Bumiputera 1912 Yogyakarta. Tranasformasional leaders tend to exhibit four qualities. They provide (1) charismatic leadership, (2) inspirasional leadership, (3) intellectual stimulation,
and (4) individualized consideration. Organizational sugests that effective supervisors may possess certain characteristics which are related to transformational leadership i.e., (1) risk taking, (2) innovation, (3) use of humor, (4) emotional coping, and (5) behavioral coping. Date were collected throght purposive sampling. The four dimensions of transformational leadership and personal characteristics were assessed using multifactor leadership and personal characteristics questionner (Bass & avolio; Fajar, 2002). A total of 130 questionnaires . Of this total, 91 were sales people (who responded about their supervisors transformational leadership qualities) and
39 wew sales supervisor (who responded about their personal characteristics). Correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between each of
the four transformational leadership dimensions and each of the five personal characteristcs, use of kendall correlation analysis. The preceding discussion suggest that the more leader can risk taking, innovation, use humor on the job, emotional coping and bevioral coping, the greater is their ability to be charismatic, inspire subordinates, intellectually stimulate employees, and provide individualized consideration to others.
