Dalam dunia industri terutama pada bidang manufaktur banyak cara dilakukan agar dapat mengurangi biaya proses produksi. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan sistem otomatis. Sebagian bidang industri telah banyak menerapkan sistem otomatis dalam proses produksinya. Pada umumnya sistem otomatis yang diterapkan terdiri atas dua metode yaitu otomatisasi berbasis kontrol relay dan otomatisasi berbasis Programmable Logic Control (PLC). Programmable Logic Control (PLC) merupakan suatu bentuk khusus pengontrol berbasis microprocessor. PLC memanfaatkan memori yang dapat di program untuk menyimpan dan mengerjakan instruksi. Contoh instruksinya seperti logika, sequencing, pewaktuan (timing), pencacahan (counting) dan aritmatika guna mengontrol mesin-mesin. PLC mempunyai kemampuan menggantikan logika dan pengerjaan sirkuit kontrol relay yang merupakan instalasi langsung. Program untuk mengatur PLC cukup dibuat secara software. Pengkabelan hanya diperlukan untuk menghubungkan peralatan input dan output. Hali ini mempermudah dalam mendesain dan memodifikasi rangkaian, karena cukup dengan mengubah program PLC saja.

In the industrial sector especially in the manufacturing have many ways to reduce the cost of production process. One way that can be done is with the automotion system. A few industries apply an otomation industrial in the production process. In general the automation system that applied consist of two methods namely automation based on control relay and aotomation based on Programmable Logic Control (PLC). Programmable Logic Control (PLC) is a special form of control based on microprocessor. It utilize the memory that can be programmable to keep and carry on the instructions. For example logic, sequencing, timing, counting and arithmetic to control the machine. PLC have the ability to replace logic and processing from circuit control relay that is the direct instalation. The program to control the PLC just made in software. Wiring cable just needed to connecting the input and output device. This makes it easier to design and to modify the sequence, because it is only just change the program of PLC.
