PENGARUH MORFOLOGI AKAR GIGI IMPAKSI MOLAR KETIGA MANDIBULA TERHADAP LAMA OPERASI ODONTEKTOMI

Odontektomi adalah teknik pembedahan yang umum dilakukan untuk mengambil gigi impaksi yang tidak dapat diekstraksi dengan teknik biasa. Odontektomi kadang menjadi sulit dikarenakan beberapa faktor yaitu faktor klasifikasi impaksi, ukuran mahkota gigi, dan morfologi akar gigi yang dapat mempengaruhi lamanya operasi odontektomi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh morfologi gigi impaksi molar ketiga mandibula terhadap lama operasi odontektomi di RSGM Prof. Soedomo Yogyakarta. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 45 orang dengan rentang usia 18-35 tahun yang datang untuk dilakukan odontektomi oleh residen bedah mulut dan maksilofasial pada bulan 1 September 2016 - 7 Oktober 2016 di RSGM Prof. Soedomo. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan melihat rontgen panoramik, kemudian menghitung waktu dari insisi pertama hingga flap selesai dijahit dan melihat gigi secara klinis. Data dianalisis dengan uji Chi Square Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan morfologi akar gigi (bentuk akar, ujung akar) impaksi molar ketiga mandibula berpengaruh terhadap lama operasi odontektomi (p<0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian adalah morfologi akar gigi impaksi molar ketiga mandibula berpengaruh terhadap lama operasi odontektomi.

Odontectomy is a common surgical technique performed to remove impacted tooth that can't be extracted by ordinary technique. Odontectomy sometimes becomes difficult due to several factors: classification of the impacted tooth, the size of dental crown, and the morphology of dental root that may affect the duration of odontectomy surgery. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of root morphology of impacted mandibular third molar on the duration of odontectomy surgery at RSGM Prof. Soedomo Yogyakarta. The subjects used in this study are 45 patients at age range 18-35 years old who came for odontectomy procedure by oral and maxillofacial surgical residents on September 1, 2016 - October 7, 2016 at RSGM Prof. Soedomo. Observation was done by looking at the panoramic x-ray result, assessing the time from the first incision until the flap was closed and observing the tooth clinically. The data was analyzed with Chi Square Test. The results showed that morphology of dental root (root form, root tip) of impacted mandibular third molar had an effect on the duration of odontectomy (p<0,05). The conclusion of this study is the morphology of impacted mandibular third molar can affect the duration of odontectomy surgery.
