2015 | Skripsi | PENDIDIKAN DOKTERBackground: Recent studies have shown that early management is essential for a successful intervention in acute stroke. There is strong evidence that specific treatment such as thrombolysis increases the chances of a favorable outcome when administered within an appropriate time-window. It is also known that the effect of thrombolytic therapy decreases rapidly over time even within the 3-hour window, so the concept of "time is brain". Objective: This study aimed to know what factor that can influence time delay of patient admission to the hospital. Method: This research use descriptive method. Using the questionnaire for collect the data from patient family in RSUP Sardjito from November 2014 - January 2015. Result: this study shows that among 27 family patients who bring their family to the hospital, only 3 of them considered as late, they came to hospital more than 7 hours, factors that make their become late such as, their age, occupation, accompany, education, condition, transportation, payment, and sex. Also factors that effects delays of hospital admission are not strong enough to affect the outcome and still depends on external factor. Conclusion: This study shows that there are no significant relationship between determined factors and delay admission to the hospital. Keywords: Stroke, factor influencing, delay admission
