PERBEDAAN EKSPRESI PROTEIN LIVIN INHIBITOR APOPTOSIS PADA KARSINOMA SEL SKUAMOSA SINONASAL DENGAN INVERTED PAPILLOMA

Kemampuan sel untuk menghindati apoptosis berperan penting dalam perkembangan dan progresivitas kanker. Livin merupakan anggota keluarga Inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP), yang mencegah apoptosis. Adanya ekspresi Livin dalam sel mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tumor. Tumor ganas sinonasal terbanyak adalah karsinoma sel skuamosa dan Inverted Papilloma merupakan tumor jinak rongga hidung dan sinus paranasal. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan perbedaan ekspresi protein livin inhibitor apoptosis pada karsinoma sinonasal dengan Inverted Papilloma. Metode : Rancang penelitian adalah cross sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah semua pasien karsinoma sel skuamosa sinonasal dengan hasil sampel histopatologi menunjukkan karsinoma sel skuamosa dan pasien Inverted Papilloma dengan hasil sampel histopatologi menunjukkan Inverted Papilloma yang tersedia di bagian Patologi Anatomi RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta. Sampel diperiksa dengan metode imunohistokimia menggunakan antibodi Livin di laboratorium Patologi Anatomi RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta. Analisis statistik hipotesis menggunakan Mann Whitney. Hasil : Sampel penelitian berjumlah 20 karsinoma sel skuamosa dan 21 sampel Inverted Papilloma. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna ekspresi protein Livin inhibitor apoptosis antara karsinoma sel skuamosa sinonasal dengan Inverted Papilloma dengan p<0,05. Kesimpulan : Terdapat perbedaan bermakna ekspresi protein Livin inhibitor apoptosis antara karsinoma sel skuamosa sinonasal dengan Inverted Papilloma.
Background : Apoptosis plays an important role in oncogenesis and tumor regression. The ability of cells to avoid any apoptosis plays an important role in the development and progression of cancer. Livin is a family member inhibitors of apoptosis protein (IAP), which prevents apoptosis. The expression livin in a cell affect tumor growth. Most sinonasal malignant tumors are squamous cell carcinoma sinonasal and Inverted Papilloma is a benign tumor of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Objective : This study aims to determine the differences in the expression of livin protein inhibitor of apoptosis in sinonasal carcinoma with Inverted Papilloma. Method : Design research was cross sectional. The samples were all patients with sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma histopathology sample results indicate squamous cell carcinoma and patients Inverted Papilloma with histopathology sample results indicate Inverted Papilloma available at the Anatomical Pathology Hospital Dr. Sardjito. Samples were examined with immunohistochemical methods using antibodies livin in Anatomical Pathology laboratory Hospital Dr. Sardjito. Statistical analysis using mann whitney. Result: Study sample were 20 squamous cell carcinoma sinonasal patients and 21 Inverted Papilloma. There was statistically significant difference expression livin protein inhibitor apoptosis between the squamous cell carcinoma sinonasal and Inverted Papilloma (p<0,05). Conclusion: There is significant difference of expression livin protein inhibitor apoptosis between the squamous cell carcinoma sinonasal and inverted papilloma.
