Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana eksistensi dari prinsip iktikad baik (utmost good faith) dalam bisnis asuransi jiwa yang memang sudah merupakan salah satu kebutuha di era globalisasi seperti sekarang ini. Penulis ingin mengetahui bagaimana penerapan asas itikad baik pada Putusan Pengadilan Negeri Jember No. 150/Pdt.G/2015/PN.Jmr. Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research), yang bersifat yuridis normatif, yaitu penelitian yang mengacu pada norma-norma hukum yang ada dalam peraturan perundang-undangan, literatur, pendapat ahli, makalah-makalah dan hasil penelitian yang berkaitan dengan klaim asuransi jiwa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada putusan Pengadilan Negeri No. 150/Pdt.G/2015/PN.Jmr Hakin berkesimpulan bahwa apabila adanya penyembunyian informasi pada saat proses penutupan asuransi sampai engan pelaksanaannya, maka terlebih dahulu di putus melalui Badan Peradilan lainnya dan tidak merupakan batal demi hukum.
