Jumlah anak berkebutuhan khusus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun namun sayangnya tidak diikuti dengan pertambahan SLB (Sekolah Luar Biasa). Akses ke dunia pendidikan dan fasilitas terapi ditambah dengan tingginya biaya sekolah dan terapi mengakibatkan bahnya anak berkebutuhan khusus tidak tertangani sejak dini atau bahkan tidak mendapatkan penanganan sama sekali. UUD pasal 31 menyatakan bahwa setiap warga negara berhak atas pendidikan dan adalah peran serta pemerintah dan masyarakat untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut. SLB Alam Siwi Takarini hadir sebagai jawaban atas isu tersebut. Sekolah dengan konsep alam akan memperkuat fondasi system syaraf setiap anak untuk mencapai tingkat tertinggi kognitifnya. Visi sekolah ini adalah mendidik dan memberdayakan setiap anak untuk mencapai potensi maksimalnya sehingga setiap anak dapat hidup secara mandiri dan memiliki peran dalam masyarakat.

The numbers of children with special needs have been increasing from year to year. Their access to education and therapy facilities, the high amount of school fee and therapy cost have caused these children difficulties in having appropriate treatment or not having any treatment at all. UUD article 31 states that every citizen has the right to education and this is a role that both government and society need to work this matter out together. SLB Alam Siwi Takarini is formed to answer that issue. The school has a nature environment as the concept which aims to strengthen every child nerve system. The schools vision is to educate and empower every child to reach his maximum potential so that he could live his life independently and have a role in the society
