Today the countries strengthen bilateral relations by expanding the partnerships in economic and military fields. Japan and Philippine was signed the security cooperation agreement in 2012 under the government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Both countries agreed on the establishment of a cooperation agreement as a response in the face of increasing influence and military power of China at each of regional territories. This research will then analyze further the relationship of Japan and Philippine security cooperation as a response to facing China‟s military rising in the region the region during the reign of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2012. This thesis is aimed to find out more about the development of Japan security cooperation relations with the Philippines, and the background of the election Philippines as a Japanese partner in building a security cooperation.
