ABSTRACT Australia is one of the most popular countries which has been the main destination for immigrants and refugees who traveled by sea. This condition unfortunately, is not followed by the reception of Australian government and citizens. Eventually, the policy which has been formulated is likely closing all the opportunities for the immigrants and refugees to enter Australian territory. Immigration policy, frequently, become the major booster for the Australian Prime Minister candidate to gain more supports for the general election. As what Tony Abbott did, when he proposed and implemented Stop the Boat Policy. Stop the Boat Policy as a public policy has its own pros and cons which designated its own dynamics. The dynamics of Stop the Boat Policy also will influence the decision maker of this policy, who is Tony Abbott and his position as a Prime Minister of Australia.
