ABSTRACTION This essay attempted to expose the results of research with the title Role of Nahdlatul Ulama at Masyumi in 1945-1952. The Masyumi has the dynamics of a long enough before Indonesia's independence until dissolution Masyumi in 1960. Masyumi ever lived in the days of the old order has incised long history and great for the formation of the Homeland. Nahdlatul Ulama or NU become one of the backbone of the party Masyumi of the year 1945-1952. From these journey can be described that Masyumi has many actors involved in the process of establishing and achieving the vision and mission of the party in the state. The focus of the research looked at Trip NU in Masyumi and the Cabinet of government. This research used a qualitative method and using Historigrafi to explore historical data, either from books, magazines, newspapers and interviews to obtain primary data that the surviving witnesses from the 1945 to 1960. These study stages have that Heuristics, internal and external criticism, interpretation, and historiography. These steps are a way to assemble historical data in order to interpretation into the scientific literature. This study used two theoretical basis namely political parties to see Masyumi. Second is the theory of factions. This theory to see NU in Masyumi. In this research, it was found that the actors who are involved in Masyumi have a different complexion as background, ideology, values, goals, and vision-mission. The Masyumi has many and varied political factions such as NU, Muhammadiyah, Persis, Al-Irsad, PUSA, and Sarekat Islam (SI) competing for influences within the party The Masyumi. NU as the largest religious organization in Indonesia is very important for strength The Masyumi of the year 1945-1952. The theory of political parties provide a comprehensive explanation about the shape, type, and purpose of Masyumi. Meanwhile, the faction theory explain the dynamics of NU in Masyumi which describes the relationship between the the personal leadership of the party leadership The Masyumi with NU leader. Power, influence, and resources as a factor in strength the faction NU in the Masyumi party.
