ABSTRACT One of the many art forms that grow and develop in the life of Indonesian society is dolalak dance that still exists in the area purworejo. Dolalak dance is folk dance typical kind Shalawatan then used as identity purworejo district. But along with growing age appropriate with globalization and modernization dance purworejo dolalak district is experiencing ups and downs. This study aimed to describe the life of a dancer on a group of art Dolalak Budi Santoso in the village Kaliharjo, District Kaligesing, Purworejo. This study describes how the group last dance arts Dolalak Budi Santoso in the globalization process of new media and how social change dance dolalak from time to time? This study is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. The data in this study were obtained in three ways, namely observation, interviews, and document, where the informants will be extracted information with the interview, good interview with the elder Dolalak dance, chair dance group Dolalak, members and dancers, as well as surrounding communities. Besides the observation in any dance training Dolalak also made to collect data. Not to forget also studies document that contains stuff about the history of dance and the history of the organization Dolalak group dance arts Dolalak Budi Santoso, test the validity of the data using triangulation sources. As for data analysis using data reduction techniques, data display, and conclusions. The results of this study are the players Dolalak Regeneration, which require training in every night of the week. So in the village Kaliharjo home to the dance arts group Dolalak Budi Santoso's citizens kaliharjo Dessa, terutma still sekolh, muli from elementary, junior high school are required to attend dn exercise is an attempt to maintain the art group Dolalak Budi Santoso through regeneration dancers. But one of the arts in Purworejo, the group dance arts Dolalak Budi Santoso managed to withstand the shocks of the swift currents of globalization of the new media. One key to the success of the art group's existence is to regenerate and to the consolidation of each member of the group.
