ABSTRACT Invisible Children is a Non Governmental Organization in Uganda focusing on helping local government and people dealing with the Lord’s Resistance Army. Lord’s Resistance Army insurgency has been around in Uganda and its neighboring countries since 1987. IC uses externalization as a method to gain support abroad to increase awareness and invite foreign actors to help Ugandan people fighting the LRA. IC use mass rally and mobilization as a basis for popular support to push policymaker in the United States of America to pass bills dealing with Joseph Kony and the LRA. IC uses social media to increase awareness about the LRA and Joseph Kony. IC produce a film about Joseph Kony titled Kony 2012 that went viral and proved to be an effective method of informing the people on issues about LRA’s crimes particularly child kidnapping. Social Media made Kony 2012 easy to spread and increase public support to IC as their fund doubles in the year the movie came out. People use the film to pressure policymaker to put more attention into Joseph Kony and the LRA, which the policymaker responds with passing of a bill in increasing US involvement in the LRA issue.
