ABSTRACT Tourism is one of the most important aspect in Desa Tuktuk Siadong. There’s no denying the fact that Tourism activity is the major income source to the people of Desa tuktuk Siadong. As one of the top tourism destination in Samosir Island, the quality of tourism sector must be protected and upgraded. There are a few strategies to improve the quality of tourism sector such as managing and take care of tourist attraction, accessibility, amenity, supporting facilities and institution. There are some problems that will affect the tourism sector development in Desa Tuktuk Siadong such as electricity and clean water supply, people are careless about their environmental sanitation, people are not tourist friendly and there is a lot of damaged roads around the island. This research aims to evaluate the strategies that related to development effort of Desa Wisata Tuktuk Siadong (Tuktuk Siadong Tourist Village). The result of this research shows that Local Government and Central Government are working on some strategies to develop Desa Wisata Tuktuk Siadong, Pulau Samosir (Samosir Island) and Danau Toba (Lake Toba). Local and Central Government implement the strategies and produce Horas Samosir Fiesta, Silangit airport restoration, increase the number of boats to help tourist and community.
