Women essentially not only as “kanca wingking” but also are entitled in any process leading to economic security. Women also have the same responsibility in fulfilling needs of individuals and society, nation adn state in development progress, including of agricultural development. Women empowerment in the field of agricultural development that is presence of women farmers in direct involvement of women in efforts to increase agricultural products, such as being part of a motivator in tye introduction of innovations, farm activities and marketing of agricultural products. Women’s multiple roles in addition to being a housewife, in a group of women farmers was very strategic to improve the farm productivity and also improve the economy and food security towards the walfare of fram households. As his case in Wonorejo, Sariharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman, there ar have groups of women farmers is business organic horticulture. This research is located in Wonorejo, Sariharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This research is based on the description above focuses on how the process of empowerment through women farmers in organic horticulture business?. The purpose of this research is to describe the process of community empowerment organic horticulture effort. This research method uses qualitative research approach. Subjects were the head of the hamlet, caretaker/manager KWT, PPL and KWT members. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. This study is based on the theories, such as empowerment concept and motivation theory. The results of the community empowerment through women farmers in organic horticulture business are 1. The form and the empowermenr of women farmers; 2. KWT members participation; 3. The supporting factors adn inhibitors of empowerment KWT rules.
