ABSTRACT Cooperative is a democratic economy institute that has a great potential to improve Indonesian economy. Unfortunately, there are still many problems faced by the cooperative institutions today. To explore these issue, we can see it through the participation of members of the cooperative. Effective participation of the members affected by the competence and adequate intention of its members. Based on the theory of planned behavior, intention is influenced by three variables. There are attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms and perceive behavior control. So, this research aimed to investiage the effect of attitude, subjective norm, and perceive behavioral control on the active participation of members of the cooperative intentions. This research was conducted using a mixed method approach with questionnaires, interviews and observation as data collecting methods. Survey used purposive sampling method with 94 respondents. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 16. The result of this Research shows that attitude, subjective norms and perceive behavioral control simultanly and partially has significant effect on the active participation of members of the cooperative intention. Attitudes toward the active participation behavior formed by cognitive processes through direct experience and indirect experienced by members. Subjective norm formed by the existing norms in the environment. And there are nine sources that are able to support or inhibit the participation of members of the cooperative. There are, 1) the increasing or decreasing income of members, 2) the level of members household, 3) quality of cooperative services, 4) regulations that are not rigid and not burdening members, 5) type of deposits and borrowings in accordance with the needs of members, 6) training programs that suit the needs of members, 7) the support from nearest people, 8) leisure time owned by members, 9 ) giving money transport and pocket money on an activity.
