2016 | Skripsi | SosiologiABSTRACT Illegal informal sector is often considered negatively as an activity deviating from values, norms, and rules of law. However, existence of illegal informal sector can provide income for the actors and society around. There are many examples of illegal informal sector in daily life, such as: prostitution, black market, theft, illegal gaming, and many others. In Yogyakarta, illegal informal sector can be observed in prostitution. Pasar Kembang is a district of prostitution located in an area of habitation in Yogyakarta. Illegal informal sector in Pasar Kembang has occurred since colonial era. Uniquely, illegal informal sector in Pasar Kembang still exists till now. This term isn’t regardless of the interaction dynamics which involves many elements of society. As the result, this illegal activity still exists. Needs of financial which becomes a basic of this activity, can’t be apart of social context. Despite of being accepted in society, different values and norms with the actors’ are separated in different social space. This research is aimed to describe socio-economic dynamics of illegal informal sector in Pasar Kembang. Keywords: Illegal informal Sector, Social Interaction, Economy, Prostitution.
