Kesejahteraan Subjektif Komunitas: Konseptualisasi Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Tradisional Sumba Timur

ABSTRACT The conception of the well-being is not present in the blank space. Well-being formed along with the dynamics of the social and cultural life of the society itself. Despite the efforts of many objectification of well-being concept, but subjective well-being is still the primary domain of human purpose in their life. The difference of subjective well-being concept framework implies to the taking of the State policy in encouraging community welfare. The efforts of the State through a variety of programs of welfare obviously fail when the State could not narrates local concepts of well-being in its sole discretion. For some people who still live in the traditional way, the concept of well-being very close to their cultural and religious life. This research sought to explain the concept of subjective well-being in traditional community in East Sumba, NTT which still believes the local belief Marapu. This research use qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. The results of this research find two things; First, the ability carry out rites customary marriage and death became close to traditional community prosperity for East Sumbanese. Second,the conceptualization of subjective well-being form in community level instead of individual. Keywords : Subjective Well-being, Traditional Community, East Sumba, Marapu
