Abstraction More than fifty-one years ago, massacre tragedy happened in Indonesia. All of the member of The Communist Party of Indonesia or those who were suspect affiliate with them, are being captured or killed without any legal judgement. After those tragedy, the familes’ victim were being discriminate for a long time. At the end of Orde Baru regime, the exertion of reconciliation are being held. The effort to form reconciliation could be in many way, one of them is through Senyap, a movie by Joshua Oppenheimer. Film as a popular media are the exact medium to influence the audience. Senyap movie itself bring message of reconciliation of 1965 tragedy. Senyap got a very positive respond from the international world, but not in Indonesia, they got fulminate from some Indonesian audience. Indonesian Film Censorship Institute also banned this movie, even the screening in university, one of them are being held in faculty of social and politic UGM (FISIPOL UGM) that got a big enthusiastic from the student, unfortunately banned by an non-government organization. The reconciliation discourse are so important, and in this research, the student of FISIPOL UGM with various background give their respond about this movie. They, with their different empiric experience, critically respond the reconciliation discourse that brought by Senyap movie. The various background, knowledge, activity allegedly influence the reception process from every informant that chosen for this research
