Abstraction The modern era make people's lives easier, and be apprehensive about it. Increased revenue, ease of fulfillment, and the raising of people's purchasing power are not followed by the increase in public knowledge, especially in the health field. Consequently, the lifestyle of the people becomes unwell so that causes the risk of obesity or overweight. Along with the emergence of these problems, various solutions are offered through a wide variety of solutions and tips that produce fantasy of ideal body under the guise of giving information. The lack of knowledge about health and consuming fantasies can leads young people do a diet in a wrong way that is fad diet or a counterfeit diet. Therefore, this research will focus on the study of the relation between the intensity of receiving information about fad diets and diet behavior of the young generation, especially students. Sociological analysis in this study is shown by analyzing about students who choose fad diets for just for the sake of "appearances". It is similar to what Baudrillard has said that students do fad diets to show a mark for the people around them that they have slim body. As well, the study of new cultural intermediaries which have precise strategies in online marketing world, so that they are able to create a consumptive society, that is the society who is eager to consume based on the value of the mark. Moreover, the logic of networking offline is also used, students are not only necessarily searching for information and tips diet via online but also from the people around them who are able to provide the motivation to lose weight through fad diets. Research method in this study is quantitative research method that conducts the test of the relation between the intensity of receiving information about fad diets as independent variable and the level of consumption or the consumption behavior of fad diets. This study proved that the research hypothesis that there is a significant correlation between the intensity of accessing information online with the level of fad diets.
