Studi Etnografi pada Komunitas Arcade Game Pump It Up di Indonesia

2016 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiABSTRACT This research was encouraged by the existence of company innovations in their attempt to win the market in Arcade game industry. In so doing, the companies did not only create new products but also attempted to build a strong community. The object of the research is the community of PIU, which has140 sub-communities spreading around Indonesia. PIU is a game product from Andamiro company of Korea, whose owner can be found in 30 countries. The research described that in the community there is a culture formed by the interaction happening continuously in the community either appear by itself or mediated by internet. The created culture is also related to the community orientation on WPF which is a formal world level competition held by Andamiro. The research used ethnographic method employing descriptive-analysis technique. The researcher field research in the various community activities to obtain deeper information. The informants were the members of the community who have become the members for more than 5 years, and have lots of contribution, experience and have good achievements so that it makes it easy for the researcher to obtain adequate and accurate information.
