Peran Save The Children dalam Pemenuhan Hak Anak di Indonesia:(Studi kasus Tsunami Aceh Tahun 2004)

2016 | Skripsi | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalABSTRACT In 26th December 2004, one of the biggest Tsunami in Indian Ocean destroyed a lot of infrastructure in few countries, including Indonesia. Aceh as the most affected city had lost a vital sectors such as human resources, telecommunication, transportation, and paralysis the of government. Indonesian government was unable to provide adequate facilities for the victims, especially children. The government had failed, whereas Indonesia already ratified United Nation Convention on The Rights of The Child (UNCRC) and had child protection laws. Failure of government brought other actors such as Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to help government to fulfill child rights in Aceh. Save The Children is an UK’s NGO that help Indonesian government to fulfill children rights. They did transnational activism since the Tsunami occurred until rehabilitation. The long period of activism had shown Save The Children’s big roles as an NGO. This paper will explain why government was unable to fulfill the child rights and how Save The Children did their roles post Tsunami.
