2016 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiAbstract Online gaming gamers keep increasing as the technology does. There are so many kind of Online Games , including Massive Online Battle Arena Game (MOBA) which still being one of the most played genre. MOBA Games forced its players to play as a team in order to win the game/war. The rsearch started with a question about how on and off group communication happened in a DotA 2 players group. The research used Ethnography metodhs to see the interaction between players in a group and collecting data by being and observant. The research producted communication plot inside the group and things which affected their group communication on or off game. The communication plot started with the spread of information and being cultivated by the Alpha of the team, then spread it again to the team. The messages are orders said by Alpha and spreaded using the chatroom on game. The using of orders taken as a great way to get closer to winning the war, because the team will feel lost if there are no orders from anyone inside the team. Off game communication are basically made of the friendship between them even before they started playing DotA 2 together, the amount of information shared, and affected by their on game interaction.
