2016 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiABSTRACT This study seeks to show how the information seeking process of the fans in the city of Solo to establish the identity of casuals culture, at the same time wanted to explore what are the media used the fans to be able to grab information about their new culture. This study used ethnographic methods to answer research questions. Participant observation, interviews and document study undertaken to explore the data. Informants in this study were four people consisting of the two founders of the community and two more members who join later. All informants are domiciled in the city of Solo. The study was conducted from March to November 2015 around the city of Solo. In stretching the English football fans, known hooligans term legendary and exist today. Hooligan itself contains terms that they’re a brutal football fans when the team lost to play his idol. In anticipation of unrest, their dressing style was already prepared with very mature for a fight. They are very rarely use the same clothes as her idol team or favorite team using attributes, and instead chose to dress with expensive branded clothes by mean not to reveal their identity to security forces and supporters of the enemy. This is where the emerging new culture called casuals. At the beginning of 2014, casuals culture began to explore the city of Solo. Casuals rooted culture of England recently did try to be followed and be absorbed in the tradition of supporting local clubs Indonesia, including in the city of Surakarta. The fans who call themselves PERSIS FANS trying to draw on their support being british style casuals. Clothing with distinctive brands such as Fila, Adidas, Ellesse, which cost hundreds of thousands to millions of rupiah began to rage and sought after by the fans. Although not a few people also choose to buy used, because of their limited money. The results of this study indicate that the fulfillment is done PERSIS FANS in his quest to find the information from several sources, both documents and nondocuments. Sources of information that they can meet the needs of the desired information among other articles, films, books, people, and even social media. Broadly speaking, it is started by the curiosity of the informants and interest in casuals culture itself. Then all of informants exploring options that has been the adoption by seeking information about casuals through many channels.
