ABSTRACT As one of the most popular sport in the world, football owe it’s fame to globalization; people figuratively support a club that play their games thousand miles away from where they lives. The interesting part is not only that the fans come from any geographic feature in the world but they’re conciously embrace the different culture that embedded within the club they’re choose to support. This undergraduate thesis then examines how Interisti Community Indonesia (ICI) Yogyakarta, fan base of Italy’s Internazionale Milan football club, adopts foreign values as their part of institutional identity. Using observation and interview as research method, this thesis based on the habitus theory from Bourdieu to explain the phenomenon of ‘fantasy supporter’ that came along with the moment when football rose as a global game. The result is this phenomenon emerges from the reconstruction process of football fan’s habitus through worlwide media spread.
