2016 | Skripsi | SosiologiABSTRACT One of the leather industry that exists in Indonesia located at Province of Yogyakarta Special Region, in the village of Manding, Bantul Regency. Development of leather industry in the village of Manding experience increased with emerging production house as well as a showroom that absorbs many of workers. In practice, the workers earn wages that are not in accordance with the provisions ofthe wage set by the Government. It has the possibility of the emergence of the termination of the working relationship but that happened precisely, the workers and business owners remain in a relationship work. After see the reality, this study focused on figuring out how patterns of employment relationships established among business owners with small industrial workers in leather craft in Manding village. The theory is used to examine the research is the theory of functional-structural by Robert K. Merton. This theory explains that there is a function and dysfuntion in relationships either in orgazation, the governing body, or relationship in the country. The research method used is to use descriptive research with qualitative approach. The type of data collected is the primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through observation and indepth interview on informants who have specified business owners, workers and community leader that are associated with the village of leather craft in Manding. Secondary data obtained from government documents of Sabdodadi village, the internet and other critical research note. Data analysis is conducted through three phases namely data reduction (simplification of the data), the presentation of the data and then drawn the conclusion. The result of this research is the creation of patterns of exploitative employment relationships between controlled businesses with employees who have the status of neighbors and relatives who do not have the skills. Then, formed a pattern of patron client employment relationship through the intrinsic rewards in the form of granting preferential treatment like a siblings, discretion in work, finanscial assistance, and tolerance. Then existence of a pattern of working relationship is exploitative and patron client give positive and negative impacts on both sides. Positive impact for business owners, the continuation of the process of production. While the negative effects is,the production process is often hampered due of other busyness of workers such work to cultivate rice fields and harvest. Positive impact for the workers is the guarantee in financially or socially. While a very clear negative effects incurred by workers is becoming an exploited side.
