ABSTRACT This research was conducted to find out what forms of job risk faced by GOJEK drivers and their strategies to face insecurity of such job risk. It’s based on the working relationship between GOJEK drivers with PT GO-JEK Indonesia who only as a partnership relation, what made GOJEK drivers considered an informal sector workers who didn’t get social protection of themselves against the job risk the face. To support the search of information on the risk of the work, then this research used job risk approach according Suma’mur’s, job risk are accidents and work-related company, which happened by the work at the time of working time. This research also use re-purposed with informal security concept according Ingleson’s which the concept of community based organization remains best alternative for developing countries including Indonesia in the developt of social security schemes. The methods used in this research is qualitative research methods with descriptive analytic approach. In determining the informant conducted wtih purposive sampling techniques with GOJEK driver criteria who corporated in Grup 3 GOJEK Yogyakarta. This research was done with a few steps; collecting data, analizying data, and test of data validaty. This research was also finished by means of participatory observation, where’s researcher get involved directly in the object of the research so that can more clearly see the differences and changes that occur in objects that are being researched. Result of this research showed that the risk of working as GOJEK driver can be distinguished of two kind. Physical and non-physical risk. For the non physical risk, GOJEK drivers is very susceptible to fraud case of fictious orders. While most vurnerable physical risk for GOJEK driver is traffic accidents because can be caused by many different things. Therefore, informal social security scheme in GOJEK driver cimmunity into one of their chosen strategy in an attempt to overcome vulnerability to the job risk of GOJEK driver. Social capital is important thing in the success of Grup 3 GOJEK Yogyakarta in the running of their informal social security schemes. This is proven by the succesful Grup 3 GOJEK Yogyakarta independently created a informal social security schemes which can be useful for drivers. This is evidenced by the participation of the whole of the informants in this study on informal social security organized by Grup 3 GOJEK Yogyakarta administrators.
