ABSTRACT Aged person has been seen as a burden for community. Such problems, like health and physical fitness, productivity, and social and psychology’s malfunctions are the causes. They themselves are actually burdened of several inflicted impacts by their changing ages. They feel so bored, useless, and only become burdens for their own families as not capable of doing such precious activity. That why, it is necessary to conduct some empowerment agenda to minimize those problems. Aged person empowerment is in line with theory of activity explaining of which they are succeed and prosperous if they keep doing lighted activity and sustainable while being older. One of aged person empowerment agenda has been done by Komunitas Pojok Budaya (Cultural Corner Community) at Dusun Pandes, Desa Panggungharjo, Kabupaten Bantul. The empowerment upon traditional toys aged craftsman conducted by Pojok Budaya is different, compared with governmental effort one, which is obviously caritative. In this study, the author will explain such empowerment agenda done by Komunitas Pojok Budaya towards traditional toys aged craftsman. I use qualitative research method with descriptive approach in order to answer research question. Hence, this study uses purposive informants’ withdrawal, so they can be determined firstly. There are ten informants as a whole. Data has been collected through observation, interview, and documentation upon traditional toys aged craftsman, Pojok Budaya’s administrator, and Head of Dusun Pandes. Based on research findings, Pojok Budaya has done such empowerment agenda through several steps. First of all, they give some brainstorming for the community, especially traditional toys aged craftsman that traditional toys craft is a tradition which has been existing for long time ago as well as such potency owned by Dusun Pandes’ community. Therefore, it should be preserved and developed more. Secondly, they are given some understanding on how to harness those potencies and expertise of making traditional toys. Thirdly, the empowerment agenda, conducted by Pojok Budaya makes aged person directly get involved with by using their expertise to empower them as well. By using these several empowerment steps, the aged persons would be fairly happy. Because, they do some activity, which of course are their expertises. Besides it, they can directly interact with somebody else and feel that they remain respected by the others. Keywords: Aged person, Aged person empowerment, Pojok Budaya, traditional toys
