ABSTRACT Unemployment and poverty is a social problem which can be identified as the individual’s powerlessness in bridging various needs with available Resources. Social entrepreneurship emerges from a sense of sympathy towards a social problem to be solved with values of entrepreneurship. It turns out that social entrepreneurship is thuspresent on one of the Trading institution called APIKRI. In general, trading institutions has the orientation of profiteers, while APIKRI thus became the trading institutions that implementating social entrepreneurship. APIKRI implement social entrepreneurshiptowards members of the craftsman. The outline of the research problem is how the implementation of social entrepreneurship by APIKRI in Desa Wisata Krebet, Dusun Krebet, Desa Sendangsari, Kecamatan Pajangan, Kabupaten Bantul, DIY. The purpose of this Research is to get the implementation of social entrepreneurship by APIKRI in Krebet. Further Research is expected to enrich the study of social enterpreneurship in the context of Community empowerment in order to resolve social problems. This research used qualitative methods and descriptive approach. This research used in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation and documentation as data capture techniques. Analysis of data obtained through some informan chosen by purposive. Location of this research is APIKRI offices and Desa Wisata Krebet, Dusun Krebet, Desa Sendangsari, Kecamatan Pajangan, Kabupaten Bantul, DIY. The result of this research shown that social entrepreneurship is not the recognition of APIKRI himself. This nickname was given by academition that know abous social entrepreneurship and the activities by APIKRI. APIKRI using pragmatic approach i.e. help marketing the craftsman, then developer his business venture. The reason is for the establishment of APIKRI craftsmen are part of the community who aren’t in good position from the social and political side.
